Today, Delicato harvests more than 10,000 acres of vineyards across the top grapegrowing regions of California. These range from the coastal cool of the legendary San Bernabe Vineyard in Monterey to the rolling foothills of Lodi. A celebrated team of highly experienced winemakers has brought decades of expertise to bear on these remarkable grapes, to create Delicato wines of distinctive character, memorable quality and exceptional value. Family, without a doubt, is the driving force behind Delicato, one of California's oldest winegrowing families. The broad vision of Gasparé Indelicato, the Sicilian immigrant to whom the family owes its livelihood, has been taking shape over the past 40 years. With the second generation, sons Frank, Tony and Vince have helped the company grow in ways their father never could have foreseen. Currently, eight members of the Indelicato family work in the family business. Beginning with the early days of growing and selling grapes, founder Gasparé Indelicato then started producing modest amounts of wine for family and friends. The second generation expanded operations substantially by instituting a custom winemaking program catering to other California wineries, and later by acquiring the jewel in the Delicato crown: San Bernabe Vineyard. The family has taken success to a higher level as Delicato brands are now represented in every premium wine segment and continue to grow. |
